The Lowe Art Museum at the University of Miami officially
opened a new wing on May 2nd, dedicated to the art of glass.
The Myrna and Sheldon Palley Pavilion for Contemporary
Glass and Studio Arts is named for two University of Miami
alumni and longtime benefactors, who donated their collection
to their alma mater, along with a gift of $1.7 million for con-
struction of the new wing, and another $1 million to fund an
endowment for the glass collection...
On September 27, 2008, The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) will open the doors to its new home at Columbus Circle. With triple the space of its previous facility, the 54,000-square-foot building allows MAD to dedicate galleries to its growing permanent collection for the first time in its history and will distinguish the institution as the only New York museum with open studio programs that allow visitors to watch the creative process within programming spaces.
Duane Reed Gallery of St. Louis, will mount a show by talented and elusive artist Kreg Kallenberger in September. Kallenberger has worked primarily in glass for 35 years.
